We pride ourselves on providing something that most allopathic doctors cannot. First and foremost: we see you, we hear you, we take the time to hear your story and look deeply at your health. We take the advice of the beloved, late physician, Dr. Oliver Sacks to heart when he says, "There's only one cardinal rule in medicine: listen to the patient."
When we start with our patients we always begin with a free consultation. We offer a wide range of services for our patients and we want to make sure that we guide our patients into the services that are most appropriate for their condition. From drop-in community acupuncture treatments, to complex disease recovery plans incorporating genetic-guided nutrition plans, comprehensive blood work and rehabilitative exercises-- there's a pathway forward with our office that is as unique as you are. When we put together multiple modalities for you, you get better faster and more affordably. In order to schedule your free consultation, click the link below and let us know how we can help. |

Nutrigenomic Counseling
Your genes can reveal the causes of your disease as well as the specifics of your optimal diet. We identify the unique nutritional and vitamin requirements indicated by your genetic variants. Research into nutrigenomics is an exciting and growing field, the true personalized medicine. |
Massage
We employ a combination of techniques from traditional Chinese Medicine such as Tuina, cupping, and gua sha, modern systems including rolfing, structural integration, and muscle energy techniques alongside acupuncture treatments. |
Herbal Medicine
We provide herbal formulas in various forms including tablets, tinctures, salves, custom compounded from our 300 ingredients custom granule pharmacy or as raw herbs for home decoction. Our herbs are painstakingly sourced, meticulously tested and exceedingly safe. |
Rehabilitative Exercise Instruction
We offer personalized corrective exercises in one on one training sessions. These address postural contributors to your conditions, strengthen weakened muscles and tissues, and restore balance and coordination. |
Cupping
Popularized by the US Olympic Swim Team in the 2016 summer olympics, cupping is an effective treatment modality in the resolution of musculoskeletal complaints, improved detoxification, and supported lymphatic circulation. |
Gua Sha
Guasha is a dermal abrasion technique used to reduce inflammation in joints and muscles, to reduce the accumulation of scar tissue, and to stimulate circulation. |
Moxibustion
Moxibustion involves the use of an herb called mugwort to warm specific acupoints or regions on the body. It increases the effect of specific acupuncture points. |
QiGong Instruction
QiGong is a system of mindful breathing paired with movement that works to circulate energy through the body in the same way that an acupuncture treatment would. Your acupuncture treatments can be supported with a regular qigong practice that you do in your own time, speeding your recovery and improving your long term health. |
Acupressure Instruction
We'll often send patients with self-care homework techniques that may include massage, moxibustion, guasha, and acupressure on regions of their meridian system that will help speed up their healing and recovery. |
Pediatric Tuina
Any day with a pediatric treatment on our schedule is a good day. In infants a system of massage is used to effect the same changes that acupuncture does in an adult. These treatments are helpful to support slow development, respiratory issues, immune concerns, digestive issues, and for general health. |

Kieran Jones L.Ac. MTCM
I first experienced acupuncture when, at 11, I watched my older brother receive acupuncture to treat nerve damage in his leg. The woman who treated him demonstrated what seemed to be an unnatural capacity to understand him and his problem with a glance. He was healed quickly, and I was hooked. I've never looked back. I'm the Clinical Director and owner of Cotati Community Acupuncture. I provide private acupuncture with specialities in orthopedics, autoimmunity, diabetes, weight loss and functional medicine treatment. I consider myself exceedingly lucky to do the work I do. It's profoundly fascinating to be able to see the world through the lens of Chinese Medicine and endlessly gratifying to help people with such a beautiful and gentle healing system. When I'm not in the clinic, I play a lot of soccer, spend time with with my four kids, or make sawdust in the woodshop. |

One of my earliest memories involves playing in the woods, tearing up leaves and mashing them into water to make pretend tea. It’s no surprise I ended up studying medicinal herbs starting in 1992, earning certificates in several clinical herbalism programs along the way. In 2003, when I was seven months pregnant with my daughter, I slipped and fell, injuring my right leg. When my physician advised me that all I could do was rest until the baby was born, I decided to try acupuncture, and immediately fell in love with how it made me feel. Within four weeks of treatment I was walking normally and within a year I was enrolling in a graduate program in Chinese Medicine. I completed my master’s degree at the American College of Traditional Chinese Medicine in San Francisco in 2009, where I focused on Family Medicine and Community Practice, and went on to found SF’s largest community acupuncture clinic, where we proudly gave over 50,000 affordable treatments in the next five years. In 2015, I finally followed the call to leave the city and return to a rural existence, and now I steward a 33-acre homestead and farm with my family in the Cazadero hills, tending extensive herb, flower, and vegetable beds and running a community grazing program for wildfire resilience. My true vocation is healthcare and health education, and I am honored to work with people to help them find greater enjoyment in everyday life through health and wellbeing. |
